[Music] hi I'm Jeff Cote with Pacific yacht systems and I want to share with you a little bit of advice on operating an inverter charger and inverter and also purchasing one there's gonna be a lot of choice out there when you're looking for an inverter charger and make sure that when you're buying one you have the ability of disabling the inverter but keeping the charger function enabled when you're at Shore power I can there are countless voters that I've dealt with that have been so disappointed to realize that when they lost their shore power not only the their charger stopped working but their inverter kicked on and when that inverter kicked on and decided as it was told to do to run all AC loads potentially heaters or whatever AC appliances were connected and it drained the batteries and those drain batteries didn't get recharged until AC power came back or the owner came back on board and the batteries were lost so it's really crucial as a boater to really think about why would I need my inverter to be on when I'm connected to shore power and I'm away from the boat and are there any AC lows on my boat that I am okay with running when my inverter turns itself on when I'm not on board so as a general rule of thumb and of course every rule has an exception I always advise boaters to turn off or disable their inverter but keep the charger function on their inverter charger enabled while they're connected to shore power and away from the dock if you've got further questions on inverter chargers and wondering what's right for you contact us at Pacific yacht systems and thanks for watching
