hello everyone we've got a question from a fellow boater named gisele giselle asked jeff our freezers fridge and ice maker all have vent in front for circulation i'm assuming i've noticed as they get quite clogged most kid and dog hair what does this have on the appliances are they working harder are you drawing more hams this is a good point now this is not electrical so you know i'm going to fall out of my era of ex area of expertise here but yes it's really advisable to make sure that you have good air flow to allow the refrigerators on our boat to be able to cool right and in doing so they actually are uh exchanging uh air to make and they're gonna create warmer air to make cool air inside of the refrigerator so yes it's it's advisable absolutely to make sure that the vents and the grills on the compressors are don't have too much dust and if they do those are very fine dust you want to use a vacuum or a shop vac you know with soft bristles so that you can actually remove all this sort of like fine debris on the grills so that your devices don't have to work as hard and that's the gisele's question is the reality is that anything that has to work harder than it needs to will effectively have to run longer and harder for it to do the same thing it would if there was better air circulation so giselle is right uh you want to make sure that your ice box compressors or whatever they are whatever refrigeration system you have have adequate ventilation and that the grills on those devices are as much as possible free from excessive dust dog hair or whatever else sort of loose particles are in our boats that can clog and effectively make our fridges less efficient so that's a good question from gizelle thanks for all of you for watching and safe boating so if you're curious again go on our website and find out more answers and solutions with this sort of setup and thanks for asking and thanks for all of you for listening and tuning in
