My Solar MPPT Controller Only Has an Outlet for One Battery Bank but I Have Two - What Do You Recommend?
Question:
I am installing solar power on my vessel. I am using an MPPT controller but it only has an outlet for one battery / battery bank. I have two banks. What is the best way to charge the two banks. Use one of the new battery isolators with no power drop, an ACR or just a simple battery switch that would require manual management between the two banks. Thanks for your help. - Hans
Answer:
I’d suggest using a Xantrex EchoCharge between house and engine battery to share the charging voltage on the house battery. - Jeff
