I have watched all you videos and am planning a bunch of projects. In the mean time I have a simple question. Is it ok to have more than one power supply for a NMEA 2K network? I installed a system to display my yanmar data on my B&G and it also provides power to the network. Must I remove that power supply? - Mick
Hi Mick, without getting into complicated and unusual NMEA 2000 backbone permutations. To keep things simple, you should have only one source of power in your N2K backbone. You’ll need to choose one source to power the backbone. In my experience, NMEA 2000 backbones are not powered by end devices, but instead may draw none or little power. Your backbone should be powered by a separate and switched and fused power source. - Jeff
