AGM Battery for Starting Engine

Question:

I purchased 2 Firefly batteries from you at the boat show this year. I need to replace my engine start battery. What do you recommend? I would think an AGM, but not sure given I have an Atomic 4 engine with stock 55 amp alternator (will probably upgrade next year). My shore power charger is a Xantrex True Charge II 40 amp, and 180W Solar with a Victron controller , and a Blue Sea ACR. Thank you for your advice.  - Tom

Answer:

Hi Tom, my recommendation is to go with a NorthStar Cranking AGM Group 24 battery. That’s the type of AGM battery we use for engine starting.  - Jeff
