Maurice was looking for someone to install some electronics on his new acquisition, Apocha, a 34-foot Tollycraft. PYS’ website, along with its many favorable testimonials, caught his eye, and inquiries around his marina confirmed their reputation for good service. After meeting with PYS at the Vancouver Boat Show and hearing their solid recommendations, which included advice about safety issues, Maurice sailed over from Ladysmith to have the work done.
Apocha now has a full suite of electronics: two Garmin 4212 MFD's, a GSD 24 sounder, and a Matrix 2150 AIS/VHF, which allow Maurice to sail with much more confidence.
"PYS did not oversell," states Maurice. "They realized I was working within a budget and helped me prioritize. I’ll call them again when it’s time to move down the checklist."
He particularly appreciates being able to map out his destination based on how far he wants to stay from shore; being able to see an image of his boat as it approaches a harbor; and having a 3-D view of the water underneath the boat. He also likes having his VHF/AIS radio connected with the chartplotter, so he can see the call sign, direction and location of any ship in the area.
“I was impressed with PYS, their staff, their company,” says Maurice. “They gave me some really good advice.”
