Rudy’s new boat, Sapphire, a 36-foot Tiara he’d purchased from the East Coast, was designed as a day boat. For Rudy to be able to take it from the Gulf Islands to Desolation Sound, it had to be converted into a Pacific Northwest cruiser; to stay at anchor for extended periods, it needed more house power. On the recommendation of a neighboring boater at his marina, Rudy contacted Pacific Yacht Systems. He found that PYS’ clear explanations of the different options available to him made it easy for him to decide on the work to be done.
PYS installed larger maintenance-free battery banks (L16 Gel), a Magnum 2000W/100A inverter/charger with RC-50 remote panel and a Magnum battery monitor (BMK-100). They rewired the alternators so that both engines can recharge the engine and house battery banks, and also rewired the KVH M3 satellite TV and Bose entertainment system to minimize the power draw on stand-by mode.
"Everything PYS installed was mounted properly and done neatly," states Rudy. "It’s obvious just from looking at the work that it was done with pride."
Rudy describes the installation as flawless—“very neat and professionally done; top notch.” PYS explained every step along the way and made it clear they welcomed any questions that might arise later.
