When Dennis, purchased Lolli Pop, a 36-foot Carver, it was twenty years old and was “eating up batteries.” He contacted Pacific Yacht Systems, who came out to assess his concerns and report on the situation, at no charge. After PYS examined the DC and AC systems and explained everything, Dennis understood what changes and modifications were required, and why he had been buying new batteries every year, in spite of good maintenance practice.
After PYS took care of that problem, Dennis decided to have his navigation system upgraded with the latest technology. This has greatly improved his feeling of security on the water. He describes one occasion, returning from a tour of the Gulf Islands, when his boat encountered six-foot troughs during a bad storm. “The crew on board were very comfortable knowing they would make it to port. Even if they couldn’t see land while the compass was doing the circle-dance-and-pitch, they knew what I knew, from watching my Garmin GPS-screen navigation system. PYS and Garmin—thank you!”

Dennis found PYS’ after-sale support to be excellent. Because of a programming malfunction, his Garmin monitoring system for trim tabs and fuel flow had indicated that Port was right and Starboard was left. PYS immediately pursued the problem with Garmin and made sure it was corrected in a very timely manner.
