Our client enjoyed anchoring but was tired of running the generator four hours every day. His biggest complaint was the smell of diesel exhaust and the worry of waking up to a low voltage warning. It was a good boat, but he always felt that the electrical was the weak point. He knew the end goal but did not know how to get there.
The PYS Team put together a complete design that integrated some existing gear while maximizing the limited space that was available. PYS also provided a complete list of recommendations, starting with a high output alternator. The boat didn’t have any room for additional batteries, so PYS replaced the bank of flooded lead-acid batteries with AGM batteries to increase the usable capacity and reduce maintenance.
