Saturday, December 6, 2014 - Christmas Sail Past

Decorated boats will be marshalling off the White Rock pier for the 'Lights On' at 5:00 pm and will make two passes by the pier. Come by and watch this great spectacle of lights on the water! Best viewing at the end of the White Rock Pier.

 

Daily from December 5, 2014 to December 23, 2014 - Carol Ships Parade Of Lights Festival 

This annual Christmas tradition began more than 50 years ago in Coal Harbour with one boat decorated with Christmas lights. Today, more than 50 boats festooned with 100,000-plus twinkling lights can be seen gliding through Vancouver's waterways on peak evenings.

Join the Vancouver Aquarium for an insightful presentation on the behaviour of harbour porpoises, Phocoena phocoena.  Harbour porpoises are small cetaceans that are quite common along the coast of British Columbia, yet very little is known about their behaviour.

 

Sunday, November 16th - Hyde Creek Salmon Festival 

Informative and interactive displays and exhibits. Live raptors, endangered species, see salmon close up, build a bee box or bird house, learn about making honey, children's crafts, decorate a salmon cookie, enjoy salmon burgers & chowder. Four special children's shows.

 

Wednesday, November 19 - Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown

Top Ocean Wise chefs compete head-to-head in for the title of 2014 Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown Champion: Vancouver. Taste all the delectable original chowders, paired with local craft beer, and vote for your favourite, all in support of sustainable seafood. All proceeds directly support Ocean Wise.
