I read your Tech Talk article "Small Boat Electrical” and see in the costs chart you have $300.00 for a high output alternator. Could you give some examples of these types/brands/output and would they include a smart charger built in? Thanks for the great informative article. –Terry

Going to a reputable alternator shop is always a good starting point. For instance, here in the lower mainland, I would recommend Brighouse Electric in Richmond. A good quality alternator, at a reasonable price point, is Leece Neville. At a cost of $300 dollars, the alternator comes with an internal regulator. You’ll need to spend another $500 to get a good external regulator.  -Jeff
