Once upon a time… Jeff bought a sailboat. Although it had passed survey, he quickly found out that its electrical and electronics systems were sub-par. Something had to be done.
Jeff knew what he wanted. He was looking for:
He didn’t want piecemeal, he didn’t want technicians who had never boated, he didn’t want to have to project-manage somebody else to fix his boat, he just wanted to spend more time on his sailboat…
He couldn’t find what he was looking for. So Jeff did it himself.
What happens when professional expertise and a passion for boating meet? Well, fortunately for those of us who lack his expertise, Jeff was inspired to start Pacific Yacht Systems.
The people at PYS are boaters themselves,
states Jim,
and they really care about what is happening on your boat and the service you’re getting. Jeff is one of the good guys.![]()

Q:
I know nothing about electricity, other than it hurts when I lick my finger and stick it in a socket. I was down at my marine store this week and noticed that I can purchase a pig-tail for my 30 amp plug so that I could plug in both "sides" of my boat. One side feeds the inverter (and battery charger), and also services the light weight items like the TV, stereo, etc. The other side feeds my stove, hvac, microwave, etc.
Now I realize I cannot have all this stuff running at once, but can I buy the pig tail and plug in both sides? How would I know if I have too much stuff running?
